very nice!! I see you are cutting out all the factory supports so you must be tying the cage into the body (of course) very nice!!

What did you cut all the pillar metal out with? nibbler?

make sure to take lots of pics!!

I used an air nibbler on my ranger to gut some of the interior and it kept binding up so I didnt use it this time. An air spot weld driller and a **** load of cutoff wheels haha. I went thorugh and marked everything with a sharpie and then went to town for two days with the die grinder. I hate grinding and I had to do a lot of it.

And yes, the tubes will tuck nicely inside the gutted area and weld to a good portion of it. The parts we cant get welded directly to the cab I will make 1/8" plates to tie it to the body. I dont want and squeaking and I want to make sure that if or/and when it rolls it will save the main structure of the cab and its integrit like my ranger did when I rolled it.

little more of an update, knocked out a little bit of tubing in the cage. All 2.0"x0.120 except the A in the windshield is 1.5" OD

you ca get it that tight. It just takes a little time and patients. The explorer A pillar has 2 different plane bends in it unlinke my ranger cage I couldnt just run a straight tube down either side of the windshield so it require very slight bends in the right spot to fit inside the pilar. The 2" tube actually contacts the outside layer of the body shell a majority of its span. I am pretty stoked on how it is comming along. After the chargers game I will get some more done.

looking good so far

Absolutely stellar work--nice job!!! Looking forward to more pics. Happy Holidays.

youre making me want to cut off my a piller and redo it lol. looks damn good so far.

haha. We just got the tube between the b pillars tonight and between the c pillars and the tubes to the back of the frame in the cargo area too.

Amazing work....ive been following this thread alot even when im not on much haha, great work so far! i cant wait to see the finished project!

Hey just a mod idea, maybe you'll like it.... quite a few of us got us some Projector 1 peice headlights.. you happen to have the right style front end for it. Look up the projectors... you might like them.. I personally think they would look badass on your truck.. but even if you don't like em.. you're truck still looks badass either way! [Are you a fan of halos?]

the projectors I have, even without the HID kit, put out WAY BETTER LIGHT then the OEM factory housings

they also changed the whole look of the truck and I always hated the explorer two piece, lets cram these both in there, headlight setup.
Cant wait to get HID's

Looks like you are cruising on this! that is encouraging... more pics!!

I have the projector light kit but its a two piece. I was looking at some of the LED housings but I already run a 5000K HID bulb in my stock headlamps. I asked a seller about mod'n those LED lights but they said wiring was required and I dont care that much. Plus Im not sure I like the black back housing.

I have these so unless its easy to put my HIDs into the LED/Halo lamps I really dont care to spend the 240 dollars on that. Rather put it into other stuff I need for the fab work I need done, lol

410 has an older version, and he chose black because of personal preference. I have chrome, and I really do think you would like them. Plug and Play! I'm using 6000K Hid's in the projectors. H1 bulbs for the high beam and projectors. but as far as plugs and wiring goes.. everything plugs nicely into your normal 9007 socket. Lemme find some pictures.
