- 1994 Explorer XLT
I am new to Ford Explorers having recently purchased a 94 XLT that just turned 85,000 miles today. The original owner put 60K or so on it during his first 10 years of ownership but only 24K or so during the last 15. Unfortunately, all 24 years were spent out in the sun in Wilmington NC so the outside and interior look a lot worse than under the hood. Maybe Ford will warranty that clear coat. So far, I have replaced plugs and wires, the stereo and speakers, and the shocks. Only one of the power windows works but fortunately, I can drive thru at the money machine. I know I have vacuum leaks but since changing the plugs and replacing one vacuum hose under the EGR, mileage has gone up to 18 or so. I am thinking my $1300 was well spentbut only time will tell. Thanks for the help already given
