Hello everyone, this is my first post and it is regarding me getting a rebuilt motor for my 91 Explorer XLT manual. My block or heads cracked and my parents took enough pity to offer to buy me an engine. I would love the 302 swap but do not know of ALL the necessarry components. If I swap for a rebuilt 4.0, I think I should probably go for new headers and a clutch for safety's sake.

I saw Centerforce dual friction and a no-name brand on ebay for the clutch aspect. And I would only have enough for PaceSetter or Hedman Headers. I could have the shop installing the headers machine the welds flat so that there should be no leak at the gasket. What do you all think. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to this forum! Swapping gets into issues such as: exhaust, transmission, computer, fuel lines, A/C lines, driveshaft length, wiring harness, etc. If you are working on a limited budget, then just get the same engine as the one you have in there now.
