My gas milage sucks!!!

Would getting a B&M shift improver help out with gas mileage instead of watching the tack climb and climb to kick out of the 3.07s?? I wouldn't trust myself to install the kit either; do I take it to my home mechanic or a tranny shop to do it (if they would anyway)?

I'm joining the club here. My gas mileage is around 13 mpg city. Mind you that my truck is stock. No big tires or lifts. I don't really have a lead foot because when I accelerate, the tach goes up to about 3000rpm and the tranny shifts gear. I don't know why it's so bad. Any ideas?

Hmmm, the V6 may be different but my V8 will shift around 2000 if I am light on the gas. If yours shifts at 3000, your city mileage will definately suffer, but if you get on the interstate and get past all those 3000 rpm shifts and go 70 - 75, your gas mileage should be fairly good.

Well, my shift points are usually at or more than 3000 rpm. On the highway, the engine runs at 2800 rpm at 65 mph and 3000 at 70 and 3200 at 75. I get about 18 mpg so I'm not complaining there. I just don't know why I get such low gas mileage in the city.
