My hood won't open.

Hello Ford community, hope holiday was great. I'm New and I really need some help. How do I open my hood on my '92 Ford Explorer sport? Hood won't release and I need to put oil in. Can anybody help?

Also, Can I get into my 2002 expedition? Child locked keys in car? Can't find spare key-Murphy's law in full effect. Thanks,

The cable is probably broken. This happened to a friends focus one time. I used a some tools and just poked around at the latch through the grill until it popped. I then used copper wire to rig up a pull cord so it could be opened from the latch. It was pretty ghetto, but it got the job done.

the latch may have moved out of position. the latch on my g/f's '91 quit working a few days after she got it home. did like sport did...poke with something through the grill to get it unlatched, then loosened and adjusted the latch...works fine now.

You can open the latch by actuating the manual release with a screwdriver.
