2002 XLT
Hi guys, I'm Kyle and am 22 from Wisconsin.
I bought my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT earlier this year (May 2010). So far I am loving it and can't wait for winter to see how it rides in the snow with he 4x4 for a Wisconsin winter. Here is a photo of it from the dealer when I got it.

I am putting new brakes and tires on it this coming week. I am still thinking about taking the running boards off it but am not sure how rusty it could be underneath where the bolts are etc...? Any ideas?

I am planning on a few more mods on it in the near future as well, some black rims, maybe a small life, any suggestions?

Thanks!

Welcome fella !

looks clean !, and also im a sucker for Red X's lol

as to your questions...

running board bolts, are directly underneath the running boards along the body panel.

for a small lift, look for ( BTF Spacers ) in the modified 3rd gen section. thats where i think you will be spending most of your time looking for idea's

I'd be glad to help you with any questions you may have, so cya in the 3rd gen forum !

Hello from Wisconsin. I like the color scheme you got going on there. I would lose the running boards for sure. You should have a lot of fun this winter with the explorer, I know i always do.

yeah i used rustoleum under most the truck so far to get a cleaner look to it. Probably taking them off this weekend if I get a chance. Hopefully the bolts aren't too rusted on. just have to soak some wd40 on them maybe
