sure it is rust? and just not road grime that has attached itself? the underside of my truck is an orange/reddish color, but that is from mud, not rust......

if it is rust. send them back and complain..... or at least talk to the company and see what they say...... then if nothing, get a wire wheel and sand off the surface rust, then coat it in some sort of rust inhibiting enamel.....

i'm pretty sure its rust?? their procomp spindles... made from bullseye.. so i dunno.. is this rust gonna affect my spindles?

its probably only surface rust.... contact procomp and see what they say about it......

if surface rust, you need to stop it before it spreads....or disater will result.....

Yeah, it's definitly rust. I have the same thing. It just surface rust. I didnt think of painting them before I put my spindles in but the next time I do a brake job I'll spray some rustoleum on them.

They're suposed to be "nodular iron" spindles. I thought they were clear coated when I put them on, but apparently they're not.

Clark,
I was once camping at Pizmo Dunes and in two days my rotors had rust on them. You're right on the coast and this will probably happen if you don't treat them with something. Any bare metal will rust in that kind of environment.

MY AFTERMARKET REBUILT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER DID THE SAME THING, PISSED ME OFF BiG TIME!!!

Sorry for caps.........

Next time paint the suckers before installation, anything bare metal, not aluminum not stainless gets paint........

thanks guys... imma talk to procomp tomorow and if they juss say "dont worry about it" then i'll juss put rustolem stuff on it when i upgrade my brake discs to slotted disc's this weekend..

it is normal mine did the same thing

yeh i finally talked to the guys who ordered me the spindles and they told me it was pretty normal.. surface rust won't hurt and they'd be happy to spray it for free whenever
