Hey yall Im Onebigbird, I love my explorer's this is actually my third, Im presently taking the time to do some long over due maintenance as well as a couple of upgrades to make it more user friendly for me. I bought this about a year ago and drove it about 6 months, i got a great deal on it well south of 2k. It has the 4.6 x2 in it with 147,k miles on it. Didnt notice at the time of purchase that one, the was a heck of a smell! Dogs,kids, IDK what it came from but it was masked pretty well at purchase. Secondly, although stated many times the vehicle in great shape, I discovered a prior wreck had occurred at some point, because the steel bumper, behind the front ends painted bumper, was bent back approximately 4". Im addressing all these issues and more. Im gonna post a few pictures, im not done yet as I have many parts being delivered this week and next.
I purchased a Thorton performance chip that supposedly will add up to 60 additional horsepower.
Ive got 3" leveling kit installing this week, I removed all the interior from the vehicle seats, carpet, console pretty much everything, the last owners must have been beach people as i have removed a small island of sand so far. Ive installed new high performace coil pack and racing plugs, also added a forced cold air intake to it. I would like to some day be able to add a super charger to it and mabey get in that 400+ horsepower class . I modified the front end. I installed a small 3,500 wench on a large wench plate, I also added an additional 12 volt battery for my electronics, thr3e sets of led high powered spot lights as well as a 48" lite bar on the front bumper, added a 6 gang switch panel to the middle console and it resides where the change tray used to. I also fabricated the roof rack as im always carrying stuff home, not done with it yet but the pictures will give you and idea. I cant afford 3k for new rims and tires so i tried painting my spare and i believe im gonna go with them for a spell, anyway Hey yall I didnt mean to write a book.
