Said it over on FXN and I'll say it again, VERY NICE JOB! Once you get it on 20s and clean everything up it'll be one of the nicest 1st gens I've ever seen.

Awesome Custom work

What does a stock floor body drop mean? Basically, how is it stock floor when you cut the floor out? ]

Looks like fun though! :D

Stock floor meaning you don't have to cut out the entire floor and weld it back up higher. With a stock floor body drop, you build a new, smaller height frame underneath the floor and move the body mounts in order to keep the floor at stock height.

already told you this, but awesome work man. i cant wait to see it in action. :)

 Awesome work man!!

I sure hope you have a second car, Jason ;) . That looks like it won't be finishing anytime soon. You got a big ass job ahead of you, man. But it sure hell gonna be sweet when you're all done.

Ok, I don't keep up with the street scene too much, but I'm a little confused here. The term "body drop" is a modern vesion of what was origionally called channeling. This I understand. What I don't understand is the "stock floor body drop." From the description and the photos it looks like a custom frame which is "Z'd" in the front and 4-linked with a bridge/massive "C notch" in the rear. My question is, did he actually drop/channel the body, or just rework the frame?

By the way, it looks sweet!

jasonf83, by looking at the picture you look like you have a little roll pan going there. Am I correct or am I hallucinating?

The only floor channelling that is neccessary is for the driveline. You basically just have to create a new, smaller frame under the floor section so that the body is allowed to drop down and be level with the bottom of the frame, so that the body can touch the ground. Since you usually use box tubing for the new frame, it is usually just as strong as the stock frame even though it's smaller because it's fully boxed.

I'll answer this one too, he did some custom work on his stock bumper so it mounts closer to the body, giving it sort of a rollpan effect.
