Last saturday, I went on a minor off-roading trip... next day I found out that the t-case was leaking.... I already remove the skidplate, there was a important amount of red oil down there, and as I drove with the leak, the gas tank skidplate is cover on oil too, and the rear axle... (wind stuff) So, I clean the t-case, and drive around in 4wd hi and low.... there is a leak about a 10-20 drops per night, I realize it is not coming out from the seal... it coming out from the joint between the front drive shaft and the t-case...

I already did a search, but can't find an anwser....Is the T-Case under extended warranty?¡!?!?

ANYONE PLEASE HELP!?!

Is it comming out where the drive flange for the front drive shaft is attached to the case? If so, there is a seal there. If its comming out between where the drive shaft attaches to the drive flange, remove the drive shaft and make sure the nut that holds the drive flange on is tight.

Sorry if I didn't ask before posting CoryL but I needed the pic...

Ok, imagine that the atlas II is my t-case, it will be leaking just on the right side of it, just where the front axle is attached to the case... so the problem is
INSIDE the T-case, I will go tomorrow to the dealer to let him know about my little problem...

I will update tomorrow....

COSTUMER SERVICE POS!!!

FORD SERVICE SUCKS!!! I just went to another dealer to see if I can get the inspection for free, just like an opinion or something, well the stupid a$$hole told me that he couldn´t take in my explorer, even if he discover what was wrong with it, because my truck wasn´t design for off-roading, because my truck will be a cancer to the shop, so, I almost spit on his face, and tell him how then the others modified jeeps and toyotas could have a good costumer service, and quality job...

So I talk to the manager, and he told me that if he accept to repair the t-case, even if he do a good job, the leak will come back again, because of the change of angle of the shaft. He told me that the problem will be probably a seal or something that is called in spanish "ESTOPERA", but I don't know the name in english.

Eventhough I will never walk in that POS again, I ask just to be sure, how much he will charge me to change the seal or the "estopera" (I think it means bushing or something), he said, 450$ for taking out the transfer, and check what is wrong with it, so I asked him what about if I took down the transfer, and let him do the work inside of the transfer, he told me that the price would be the same............

FORD SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as much as it sucks this sounds about right. that cost is all labor, even though i thin they should be more efficient than that - that is the cost of one full day of labor. they know how to fix it and it will only cost them pennies to fix, but they are covering their ass by jacking up the price. the only one who looses is you even if you do get it fixed there. if you have the option to go to another dealer i would.

the other thing is - you and your crew seem to be very handy when it comes to mechanics. if you can afford the down time you should be able to dismantle the case and replace the seal yourself. i have a case with a broken chain - if you think it is just the seal ill send it to you. ide just hate to take it apart and find out it is something more severe.

You're right, they know how to fix it, but that is no reason to tell me that he is not going to take in my X, beacuse it will be a cancer...

About your case, if I take down my transfer, I will be experimenting with one hand on the wrench and one hand on a book, maybe a friend of mine who use to work in a ford dealer come down to help, but not sure yet... If you wan't to send me your case down here to VENEZUELA, maybe I could learn something new about cases ;)

you pay for shipping and its yours. its the bw 44-05 out of my 95. i went to manual shift bw 13-54. been thinking off cracking it and taking a peak at it as i believe that there has to be a simple way to rebuild one. i knowi can reinstall but ide love to be able to gut one and put it back together.

good luck my man!
