My tach isn't working

It's nearly stuck at 3400 RPM. I say nearly because it will move up when I rev the motor. is there a fix, or does it need to be replaced?

It's weird because it will go down to zero when the key is off. I have no idea.

Same here.. goes to zero when shut off.. i did use a multi meter and checked the tach test port under the hood, the signal to the tech at that point is working correcly IE: correct read out, so my guess is the tach is faulty, gonna grab a used junk yard cluster and see what happens, will let you know
