I just bought a 1999 Explorer. What a lovely car. My problem is that the third brake light doesn't work. In most cases it is the ballast that is giving the problems. Can anybody tell me what is the voltage output on the ballast? Thanks

Mine was not working either... until i hit it a couple times and then it still did not work. A few months later i was backing up and i noticed it was brighter behind me when i pressed the brakes. got out and checked and it was on. I was happy.
Sorry this probably wont help you though.
GOOD LUCK. and welcome to the forum.

First thing you should do is make sure the fuse is OK, and then check and see if you have voltage going to the light. Make sure the brake pedal is pressed down when you test it.
