Heres the problem with my x, there is a chirping/squealing noise coming from somewhere in the engine compartment. It only happens when the pedal is in a certain position. It does not matter what the engine speed, gear, or rpm the engine is in, only when the pedal is in a certain position. So far o have replaced intake gasket belt tensioner and pulley but none have been the problem. I am thing the fan clutch but not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.

so i got around to checking the fan clutch and that was fine. Still cant figure it out.

Squeaks

I had the same noise on my '02, and the dealership would replace the idler pulley and one time the pulley and the water pump. It fixed it for about 20k to 30k miles everytime and then start again. Apparently Ford changed the design of the pulley, better, but still some noise.

Good Luck,

SwampRod
