Ok I have a 92 mazda Navajo LX 4.0 5 speed trans. The problem I'm having is when I'm going between 20 - 45 mph im getting a squeaking sound from the rear of my truck it can best be described as sounding like 2 pieces of styrfoam being rubbed together. When I check my drive shaft in neutral it moves if I check it in gear its tight I have noticed a residual leak spot on the rear pumpkin I havent checked the fluid as of yet due to high rain lately. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Noises are hard to track down. I'd jack up the rear wheels and spin them by hand. Try to wobble them. I'd drain and refill the rear diff fluid. Maybe do u-joints on the drive shaft if everything else looks good. Pull the rear drums. Inspect the brakes. That's my ideas for now.

Thanks for all the helpful advice I found the noise it turned out to be dirty u joints on the axle side of my drive shaft guess I need to clean the under belly to next time I decide to hit the trails
