Hi Folks,

Is there a way to have my navigation and whats playing on entertainment on the same screen. On my Pioneer there was a split screen function where you can see both as well on the BMW's.

I tried figuring it out but it doesnt seem possible.

Anyone with knowledge of this?

well... the primary screen... no not really...I think.

But if you select the navigation option on the drivers console you can see the turn by turn display.

and vice versa... if you prefer the full map - put it on the main display and use the right hand display on the drivers console to display the music/media information currently playing. You get a time progress bar and song name/artist. No artwork though, but perhaps good enough.

I thought it was kind of nice to have a little 'currently playing' media window on the drivers console while the nav map is on the main screen.. and still be able to navigate /switch music (from any source) using the steering wheel controls or voice commands.

...but then again... im upgrading from a 2005 Escape.. so perhaps I'm easy to impress. ;-)

Atta Boy spr !

I knew that, but just didn't make the connection !!!

Yeah, maybe the "next update" can offer that feature. Split screen sharing of the main options

Maybe. Music info is right there in the drivers cluster though...right? (or phone call info or environmental controlls or whatever...)

I dont know. I have not seen many instrument panels that can display as much information as this and is also customizable. Obviously - you are being totally unreasonable. ;-)

Whoa - that is a different dash layout isn't it ?

I don't drive the wife's sport MUCH, but don't recall that center looking like that --- may have to play with it, but then the wife would be mad cuz I changed something :)

you can make the left and right panels pretty much show what you want. On the left - Tachometer, instant gas milage, trip details, Fuel, temp, etc. (Notice the three tiny 'blocks' above the left display... indicating you are on 'page 1 of 3' on the ful economy display.

On the right, environmental controls, NAV turn by turn details, entertainment info or phone stuff. And you still have the BIG center console display with 4 panels of info (Basic) or dedicated to each of the 4 main functuons (Phone, Media, Nav and environmental controls).

Nav similar to this:

Oh and you can still see the track playing on the bottom left when the NAV is in full screen mode. This shows a Sirius station and track name.

I am bound to admit - I keep my head up and my eyes on the road full time.. somethng I didnt always do in other cars as much as I should. This MFT and SYNC seems almost totally dedicated to keeping your eyes on the road. Despite a couple glitches I have had early - Im pretty impressed.
