An 80 shot of NOS will get you to 300 HP.

Nope the 100 shot is for after to make 400 bhp guess I will just start with the usual stuff like headers and intake I have been told that the 5.0 Merc/explorer got basicly a cobra top end is this true if so a good exaust an better tune would probably make close to 300 horse

Headers, Exhaust, Intake and tune and you will be close to 300 at the crank.

Edelbrock has an economy head out, a small towing cam, headers, Performer intake, bigger MAF, throttle body and tune. If you are wanting that power you will only have to make 240 wheel (20% drive train loss estimate). With the cam I would select driveability would be perfect.
