What Im tryin to do is put a 3"-5" lift on my 2001 XLT and then toss 31"-33" tires on there. I know the price would change a lot with those ranges but Im just looking for some advice. Any advice is much appreciated. Im more concerned about the lift than the tires.

Welcome to the board. To lift your '01 to fit 31's you just need to do a Torsion Twist and an add a leaf or shackles. To go bigger, you need to add a 2" body lift to it. Use the search button to find all sorts of info on lifting your truck.

BTW, I'm running 31's with a 2" torsion twist and a pair of warrior shackles.

you can fit 33's if you do a 3" body lift and a 2" torsion twist and shackles and add a leaves

good luck

Welcome to the site ^^^ thats what I got with 33's ;)

I have the same model (01 XLT) and when I went to see about a 3in body lift they said they couldnt do it! Something about them not making body kits for '98 + models and suspension lifts not being approved. Let me add that this is my first time do any kind of mods, so the dude could not of know what he was talking about and I woulndt have known the difference. Any suggestions?

advice for 2001 explorer

JDraper,

How much did it cost to do what you did to your truck (not including the tires)? And then how much would it cost for a 2" body lift? Thanks
