I purchased my 2002 Explorer, used, with 30,000 miles on it, and the automatic transmission had to be overhauled at 34,000 miles. :fire: At around 50,000 it now slips in every gear, and is in the shop for repair. It is covered under an extended warranty, and the representative from this warranty company has inspected the vehicle and confirmed that it needs a new transmission. He says that his company will be sending a replacement - most likely a rebuilt transmission - to be installed by the dealership. I am concerned about what I will be getting from this company, as they will no doubt be taking the cheapest option available. Is there anything that I should look out for in this type of situation? I just want to make sure that I don't get stuck with some 2nd rate transmission, and that what is installed will meet specifications and allow the vehicle to operate exactly as it was intended...Advice?
