I've got a problem with my autostart on my Ex. I had a Astrostart (one button remote) installed on my rig when I bought the truck from Ford. Gone through a couple remotes over the years and work great until this summer. I've got a couple remotes and it does confirm when I program the remote. So programming is not the issue. But when I push and hold the button to use the autostart, the dash lights click twice rapidly and nothing happens. Check the wiring on the brain and pin switch on the hood. No luck.

Anyone have any ideas? Thx

try any of these:

1. check the on-off switch (may have bumped it)
2. are the fuese still good?
3. did it loose power at all (change your trucks battery)?

Sorry i dont have an install manual with me (its at home) for some reason its either the switch or the tach sense.

I would talk to the dealer and see if they actually installed the unit or if they had an outside shop do it (im betting ont he outside shop) if this is the case they may troubleshoot it for you.

I tried all 3 steps and no luck. I'm thinking it's something to do with the pats. I'll also look into the tach sensor as well.

If it was the PATS the ignitions would atleast fire up for you and just not crank.

To try and re-learn the tach.. if my memory serves me correctly... put dipswitch 5,6,7 in the up position, start the truck, the led next to the dip switches will rapidly flash and then press the brake. shut the truck off, dip switches down, and press brake again.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
