If anyone has an OBD II scanner willing to scan my ride near Trenton or slightly NORTH of Philly, I'd appreciate it. My bud in Delaware has one, but its an hour just to go there.

Truck runs, I just get the on again/off again check engine light, and I'd like to find out what it is.

I'd really appreciate it (since I've never actually met anyone from here.....).

Thanks :D

Do you have an autozone around you? i think i've seen a few in south jersey, they'll read your codes for free.

Thanks Doug,

I just called the closest one (he's in Trenton), and he said that since it doesn't STAY on that its an intermittant problem, and their scanner can't read it (because its not stored).

I'm an older car guy myself (carbs are cool:D ), so I'm not too up to date on current tech on this kinda stuff.

I changed the plugs this past summer (they needed it), and I run it hard to keep the carbon build-up out, and some fuel treatments here & there.

I have approx 76K on her now (99 XLT, 5.0, 2WD), and was wondering what's the normal thing to go by this time ?? (I never got an owners manual with this truck).

Thanks.

I dunno about the codes not staying in there, i'm pretty sure the computer logs all the codes untill they're cleared out. If i was you i'd wait for the cel to come on and then head autzone and have the codes read. As far as parts going you have a good motor and transmission so you dont have to much to worry about there. it's more or less little stuff here and there, i have 127k miles on mine and really the only parts i've had to replace are the ones i broke, maybe i'm not giving them time to wear out. :p Do a search you'll come up with alot of info on what to watch out for.
