Need Help..2000 Ford Ex. won't start..

Hello guys I'm new to this forum. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 SOHV It started on Friday after I picked up my kid from school, worked fine then as soon as I got home is started to hesitate I would press the gas and didn't respond. I replaced the pump 10 days earlier and it worked fine till this past Friday, I dropped the tank and got a new pump on warranty thinking it was a faulty pump, and it still has the same problem it turns over after a few cranks and it idles fine then the hesitation starts. I don't have a fuel gauge " i got the wrong one" I pushed the Schrader valve and it sounds like air came out and no fuel ??? Am I having problems with the regulator in the tank?? all the help would be greatly appreciated.

OK checked the fuel pressure and it's giving me a consistent 15lbs at idle and even when I try to accelerate. I checked all the wire connections from the tank and all seem to be in good shape..Could it be a bad pump or the whole fuel pump assembly going bad??
