The amp turn-on on my aftermarket head-unit stopped working, I wired a switch in place. That works fine, however I often forget to turn it off and with winter approaching I need a better set-up. That is coming off of the head-unit power wire

Does anyone have any ideas of a wire I can grab that will turn on my accessories when I turn the key to ACC and to START?

Thanks,

Really...any type of interior electronic that turns on with the key.. I bought a splitter fuse thingy, plug it into one fuse spot, and you then have two spots for fuses, one for the original and then another for the addon. With the addon I ran a 3 amp fuse and ran the accessory wire through a switch back to my amps. That way if the wire pulled to much current the fuse would blow and not melt, and if I left the switch turned on my battery wouldn't drain. I think I installed it onto the radio fuse?? Just kept it all on the same circuit, figured it'd be using the same amount of power either way.

Yea, for a quick fix I just wired it to the windshield wiper fuse....perhaps I should look into that splitter....these wires are just "turn-on" wires and shouldn't draw too much current

Yea, I'd rather be safe than sorry.... when I had the wire straight crimped onto the fuse it ended up pulling to much current and blowing/melting most of the fuse box lol. After that I adopted the "do it right or do it twice" mentality.

When I get a few more amps in my Ranger, I'm wiring up a really nice relay board to keep the wiring down and have it nice and pretty lol.

I think the splitter though was only like 8-9 dollars? I just had to figure out which fuse was for the original fuse and what was for the add on, just wasn't marked clearly.
