Intake and exhaust. I've put a drop-in K&N air filter in mine, also, cut out most of the front of the bottom half of my airbox, so it gets more air instead of that little hole. Also a Throttle body spacer and a flowmaster muffler. I'm pretty sure I'm pushing 15-20 hp more than stock. Also a decent set of platinum plugs and performance wires always helps.

As previously mentioned, an intake ( such as a Mac ) and exhaust ( cat back with 2.5" pipe ) are very helpful in the power quest.

Other suggestions are an e fan ( take a look at mine at http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140251&highlight=electric+fan ), a C & L MAF housing (take a look at mine at http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136883&highlight=maf ) and quite possibly the best bang for the buck is underdrive pulleys ( take a look at http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1377150#post1377150 and http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1394998#post1394998 ).

Finally a computer programmer such as SCTs XCal2 or 3 will squeeze more power.

Good luck ....

If you want better acceleration...go with 4:10 gears!

Underdrive pulleys are overlooked but they will free up a few HP and less rotational mass equals less stress on the motor causing it to last longer.
