It's a Borg-Warner 44-05. The specific model revision will be on the metal tag on the t-case itself, or on a big sticker stuck to it (if it's still there).

Basically, for a plug-n-play setup, you need one from a 95 or 96. It will have a u-joint front output yoke, and a speed sensor on the rear output. So long as it's got the front yoke (not a CV flange), you can be relatively confident it'll fit your ride.

I have 95 Explorer with a 44-05. I too, don't have access to it at the moment. Just came from the junkyard that had multiple t-cases. What am I looking for on the tag? For example, 13-54-065-90 I'm assuming is a 13-54, but what are the other numbers. Also can anybody give me a link to what years and models will work on my Explorer?

I don't know what all the other numbers mean on the tag, but the first two would be the model #,. so you are correct that the number you listed would be a 1354. You would want a 4405 from 1995 or 1996 (maybe the early 97's, but I don't know for sure).
If you want to use a search engine for your transfercase search, try www.car-part.com

I am also not sure if you could use the 1354 either. Maybe someone else with more knowledge will add to this.

Thanks mounty. That's a good idea about the car-part site. That will help alot. Thanks again.
