Need Help Identifying Wire

I was underneath my truck this afternoon & found a hanging wire near my transfer case motor. And idea what purpose it serves? The previous owner must have connected these two wires.

Is there any electrical issue? That could help figure out what that was for.

No. No issues that I've noticed but i haven't had to put in 4 wheel drive since this past winter...thinking back I don't think it worked right the last time I did have to use it.

well, whatever it's for it wasn't crimped very well. i'd just fix it and don't worry about it.

I did fix it. I'm still curious of it's purpose though.

That's the transfer case clutch wire, The infamous "brown wire" of brown wire mod fame. Without it hooked up you would have had no 4wd.
