My neighbors explorer horn will start going off for no reason in the middle of the night.
Does anyone know of a way that he can stop this from happening?
I assume that the horn is tied to the factory car alarm.
My thought was for my neighbor to disable the factory alarm. Would this work?

Can anyone help me with this? I need my SLEEP!!!

As to the problem, my $.02 is that the door switch trigger is bad on one of the doors. It is giving the false appearence that one of the doors is open. A common problem on Explorers/Rangers.

As to a solution, I dont beleive there is a way to just disable the alarm. He could try cleaning/lubing them with wd40, but that is only a temporary fix. It will inevitably come back. The only real solution is to replace the faulty switch.

crap. I was hoping there was information on how to just "disconnect something" that would solve this problem.

I had a problem with the door light switch on my Grand Marquis wagon and taped a penny to the door frame opposite the switch and cured it.
