Need help quick: Trans pan

Today I am changing the ATF fluid out of my 98 Ford Explorer sport. I REALLY need to change the filter but I can not get the pan out. I have all the bolts out but the pan continues to remain jammed between the cat. converter and driveshaft. Right now I am looking at removing the front of the driveshaft to get the pan out but I would rather avoid that. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think you have to drop either the driveshaft, cat, or both.

I think dropping one will give me enough room. Well I hope...
