Hello,

I just flushed the coolant and cleaned up the reservoir. When i refilling the coolant mixture. I can only fill 60% and it is full. I know I drained most stuff out. How do I burp or release the air from the radiator? I have 07 V8 explorer. Thanks

I just started out with a cold engine, removed the radiator cap, and made sure it was filled up to the level of the reservoir hose connection. Then I started the truck up and ran it with the heat on full blast while observing the open radiator filler pipe. Every time the level dropped from an air bubble getting burped up, I added more coolant mix. Didn't take long to get to a point where it stabilized, at which point I installed the cap and then made sure the reservoir was between the "full cold" and "full hot" lines. Then I drove it for a bit and added a bit more coolant mix to the reservoir until it was level with the "full hot" line. Seemed to work fine.

It'll take some time to burp all the air out. Just keep the overflow at the right levels. When you get home from work, check the overflow while its still hot. If its low, fill it to the FULL HOT line. Eventually, it'll get right. There's no harm as long as the radiator is full. If the overflow is empty (in the morning) for a few days in a row, check for leaks somewhere.
