My driver side power window does not work. When I roll down the window the side away from the mirror rolls down faster the the otherside. As if it was off the track. If I stop the window before it goes all the way down I am able to pull the window up while someone hits the button to roll it up. ( I keep it on track while some one else hits the button)My brother borrowed it the other night and did not know it was broke. With his friends help he was able to take the door apart and roll it up. His friend told him that it was just b/c it needed to be greased. Is this true? ANyone have suggestions on how to tackle this? Hope I explained this clearly enough. Thanks in advance for the help

it sounds as if it is off track or maybe it does just need to be greased. it may also have gunk like mud in the tracks

It's either a broke clip or bushing.Take the door panel off. the front arm is out..Not that big of a job to fix.Should be able to get the clip and bushing at any parts house..

Do any of you know where I can get this magical grease or the name of it? Thanks again for the quick replies I appreciate it!

It's kind of hard to perform heart surgery without an incision. First of you'd have to take the door panel off and see what's going on. Perhaps something got loose? something is broken? something needs adjustment or simply some grease? You have to open it first.......

make sure the tracks are aligned and not loose and make sure that lower frame is still attached to the window. Then go and check the scissors------lowering mechanism that is. Make sure it's not loose or apart.

That's about it. If that won't help consult a doctor....... too bad you're all the way in Jersey otherwise I'd just say stop by my house, we'll look at it..

Good luck!!
