I need to get this nut off so I can move my springs, they're rubbing on my swaybar end links. I can't figure out how to get the damn nut off though on the bottom of the spring that is holding down the retainer. I can't fit a ratchet through and the coils don't let me get full contact on the nut with a wrench. I tried using socket extensions and going through the top retainer but the spring is tilted forward so this didn't work. They're 1.5" lift coils btw, thanks for any advice.

Please? :(

I don't have a 1.5" in lift but on my stock 91 I can get a 1 1/16" or a 1 1/8" box end wrench between the spring and get a good grab on the nut. If I remeber correctly there was some trial and error by compressing and expending the spring using a floor jack to get the right spacing at the right angle.

It can be done.

Here's how I remove my front coils..

Remove front sway bar bolt, stand on hub assy till the coil spring pops free. Then, take an impact wrench with 2 extensions with a wobbly in the middle and it spins the nut right off.

Takes approx 15 mins to get to that stage.
