Good job!
Guess it's just my luck that everything I've tried to do on my X winds up being a PITA & a nightmare.:D

FYI - if you want to get the stud out, Snap-on (and maybe others) makes a super-deep 1 1/8" socket. Pull the inner fender, and with enough extensions go through the top with an impact wrench. I did, but I was pulling the inner fender for other reasons, so it worked out well that way.

Thanks everyone! I hope this post helps other people in the future

this was a huge pain in my butt

..If they have never been removed I put a torch on the nut..

...Seems Ford put red lok-tite on them..If you don't torch them to break the lok-tite loose, you may just snap the weld holding the bolt inside the beam..;)

..Don't ask how I know this..:D

lol took me 4 hours 2 install 1 lift spring on the drivers side fml tomorrow after work im doing the other

...What problems did you run into?

..Oh yea..If you do torch the nut just to warm up the lok-tite, remove the nut asap or the lok-tite will take a hold again..;)

wow seems that everyone has had a hard time with this but me ... my biggest problem was having a 1 1/16in wrench .... a 1 3/16 in wrench .... and even a 1 1/4 inch wrench ... no 1 1/8. But after getting one i just used the box end, no cheater bar. they gave me hell on the f150 i got the seats from, and getting them off my ex. a little wd40, and elbow grease. came right off.

When i got the F150 springs those were hard. Of course i did it in pulapart in the heat with nothing but a big crescent wrench and lots of profanity. But the nuts on my truck were pretty easy. I had the right socket and once I got them loose, spun them off with the air ratchet.

..I think zero psi is still working on the other side...

lol im working on the other side tommaorw lol... driving with one lift spring face palm

ive never really learned hwoto drop springs yet. i i think i understand, so ill make sure. since im gonna need to do this at some point soon.

jack the truck up, jackstands on frame and let front suspension fully sag, place a floor jack under the radius arm on the axle on the side on working on only to support it from falling. then just unbolt and lower the jack to let the spring fall out?

yah pb blaster my oxy torch and a pry bar... wasent to bad now i need some one to give me specs on shackles so i can lift the back its been a week where the back is ridding dirty lol
