Ok, the other day I bit the bullet and ran SeaFoam through my intake till it drown, then let it sit as per directions, then cranked her up. The thing must have been pretty badly caked up. It smoked like a freight train for a good while burning all the impurities out. I did notice a big difference in power and performance.

Now to the problem. I did all this earlier in the day. So when I left for work that night, it went fine for about ten minutes. Then it started shuttering and missing and popped the CEL. It also started smelling bad from the exhaust, like burning matches (the sulphur smell). So the next morning I pulled and cleaned all the plugs. Checked wires and plugs for good spark via the hold the wire a few inches from the coil with it running trick (only bit me once). So fire was all good, but dont know where to go from here. Have had to drive it two nights like this and need to get the prob resolved asap before I mess something up.

Even with the funny idle/run and missing it unlocked power I never knew these trucks could have. Its not a psychological thing either (like it running better when you wash it).

Any help would be appreciated. How can I pull the CEL codes myself without having to drive it like this to AZ or buy a scanner?

Thankx,
Dan

Also checked the DPFE voltages, the bottom pin reads 5.xxV input, the middle pin is nil or very minumal mV and the upper pin is at 1.XXV. do these readings look right or a little off. If someone knows the voltage it should have, please let me know before I drop $50 on a new one that does not solve the prob...

Thankx,
Dan

Ok, Heres the update. I took it down to the morons at AutoZone and had em read the codes. It had two hard fault codes stored in memory. One was like P0304 for the O2 sensor and the other was P0174 for a misfire on #6. So i got a new plug and it solved the problem. I guess one of the decided to start fouling enev though they are only like 4 months old.
