1st gen.. The screw holes are striped out for my taillights. The screws just turn & turn without tightening. How do I fix this? I have one of those cb antanna mounts & it will never hold with the striped holes.

Thanks

why not get bigger screws.
Or if not try some J&b weld, I used that stuff on a some metal that got stripped, it works great.

If you're looking for a cheap easy way, jam a couple of broken toothpics in the hole when you start the screw.

best way i found is the jb weld, put some in the hole screw in the screw, then take it out and let it dry.

This jb weld stuff, will it make the tail light hard to take off if I need to? I see 2 plastic inserts in the holes. Can't I just replace those? I'd like to fix it right rather then rig it to work.

I guess you can try going to ford.

Fixed it. FYI the rear tail lights use a simple press in plastic fitting with a screw. You can get a liecense plate screw kit that has the needed pieces for $2.
