My Explorer is giving me a problem I think its starter but i am not certain. When I try to started it turns and starts making this clicking sound before killing the battery. DOes anyone know what this could be?

have you tested the battery? how many volts is it holding?

the clicking is usually the relay kicking on to give power to the starter.

that's what usually happens when a battery is dead.

Also check all your battery connections for corresion. Cables can corrode from the inside out.

I had the battery tested and it was fine. I have to have the cables check also because I was told they could be corroding from the inside out. Have you ever heard of that happening.

I have highlighted the parts you should read.

Check all cables

Be sure to check the posts from the batter and ensure that they are clean from corrosion and any acid build up. From there inspect the wires down to the starter. The fact the battery drains shows that there is a fault somewhere. Usually this is right around the starter. Once you see it you will notice shinny metal and some black areas. I would suggest you start with replacing those wires (maint will save you money and alot of issues down the road). Just start simple before you go into a parts place buying parts.
