Guys,
I busted my mirror on my passenger side of my 1998 Explorer Eddie Bower edition and now I need to take off my door panel to install the new one. Is it as simple getting something under the panel and prying out the plastic holders or is there more to it than that?

If you have never removed a door panel before, it looks difficult but it isn't really.

There are two philips head screws next to the door handle. Remove these. Notice that there is a section of door trim around the handle. That is something you will remove too, but not yet.
There are six or eight plastic pushpins around the sides of the door but not the top edge. On mine, I was able to grip the edge of the door panel and pull it away from the door. I start on the lower rear corner and pull gently. After working it for a bit you can get your fingers in there and get a better grip. Pull away from the door until you have it worked it free except for the top edge. It is likely time to remove that small plastic trim piece near the door handle. The door handle might get in the way but you can push things around to help it along. This leaves the top edge which you free by lifting upwards on the door panel. Notice that it has to slide upwards over the door lock. The forward side the panel actually hooks into the metal of the door next to the mirror mount so you have to slide the panel off this mount too.

Good luck!
Al

Thank you from another person wanting that answer.
