- 2007 Merc Premier 4.6 2WD
I've had a 2003 Explorer SPORT TRAC for a while: XLT Limited with V6/AWD.
But I wanted a heavier Toy Hauler trailer and needed to move up to a V8.
So I bought a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer Premier 2WD with the 4.6 and its fantastic!
Or, will be, if I ever get it safetied. Who knows about REPLACING ROCKER PANELS? Especially GLUING THEM ON?
Also need to revive DRL (I see a thread on that), fix the fog lights, maybe an inner-tie-rod end?
And the backend gets the jiggles over bumps. I suspect a bad shock.
The vehicle passed a Minnesota safety just 1 year ago, so I wasn't expecting so much grief.
But it is supremely comfortable to travel in, the sound system is great, and the mileage (when running empty) is no worse my V6 Sport Trac.
