OK..posted before about engine would idle and die, took and had the codes read and since I had unplugged the battery the codes were reset. Well I unhooked the MAF and rehooked it up and seemed to run great. Well tried starting it and all it would do is click. Thought that was funny as the starter is less than 3 month old. Removed it and swapped a new one in, started right up. Drove fine. Had it back at the house and let it sit to see if it idles ok, it died and now it wont restart again..just goes CLICK. WTF is wrong with this thing? Its a 45 minute old NEW starter that wont start now after I let it die. I am at wits end here..PLEASE anyone have any ideas? Also we know its not the starter solenoid as we bypassed that to see if it was that, still nothing. AAARRRRGGGGGHHHH. Please help! :redexp: :shoot:

oh and by the way the starter we replaced was just clicking like it was messed up so we took it in and it tested fine but they replaced it with a new one anyways, this thing is driving me MAD I tell you! Its part of the family now and I will make it better rather than sell it, heck we are pulling it in this summer for a whole new workup including a lower milage engine but this ghost is haunting me. PLEASE dont make me keep driving the Grand Am!!

Check your battery cables for resistance. There have been problems with internal corrosion in the cables at the battery terminal. (happened to my '92). All the accessories will work fine, but no start. Check the resistance of the cable from the positive battery terminal to the starter. If it's more than a couple of ohms, it's a bad cable.
