Need more power

Hey Gentlemen and Ladies,
I'd like to put a more powerful engine in my 2006 Exployer. What would be my best options. I'm having a little trouble towing a relatively light camper. Like my Exployer and a truck really does not fit my needs. Any suggestions on engines that would be interchangeable so when I talk to a mechanic I have an idea what I'm talking about.

Which engine do you have now? If you have a V6 a V8 swap would be the way to go.

Not sure why you'd have trouble towing a light camper. My Ex. has the class III tow package and is rated at 5000lbs.
