Hey all.. It’s been a while since I been on the forum. Hope everyone is doing well.
Ok got a question.. I replaced my cat driver side the other day and gave the under belly a look. One of my leafs are shot. I mean shot the other isn’t that far behind so I’m in the market for new set. Found a place, Michigan Truck Springs online. Spoke to a guy Mike. For a 98 Exp He gave me part # 43-1159 $ 127.95 each plus 40 bucks to ship both. On the site there is also part number 43-967 for the mere price of $79.99
Both Lengths (A) and (B) are identical width as well. Both are 4 leaves here’s the difference..
Part #1159 arc is 6 1/2 thickness of 1 3/4
Load capacity of 1,100 where as the one # 967 for 80 bux has arc of 4 13/16 thickness of 1 7/8 and load capacity of 1,250 lbs and states it is used for 2dr and 4 dr expos. Any one ever swap springs? I’m not interested in doing the F150 conversation. As clean and as great condition as my Eddie B is, its my work truck Any info/ experience you guys have or had with this is greatly appreciated.

Are the leafs itself shot or is it the rear bracket rusted out?

I've done it. I used an Old Man Emu spring (sold by ARB in the united states) because I wanted a little lift. It took 8 months to acquire said springs so I would not recommend going that route. Other options are Deaver Spring, Detroit Spring, Alcan, etc. Some of those places can build you a custom pack for whatever you want (flex, load carrying, lift) Sounds like the place you contacted does that. Your shop sounds pretty inexpensive to me.

The leafs themselves are shot. They’re original and me living so close to the ocean I guess sped up the process. The company I found online so far has a pretty decent deal. My only question is the difference in the arch. Other than that they are identical. I also have warrior shackles on my truck so either way I’m “figuring” the difference in the arc will not be to dramatic on the ride quality. Just figured some one here may have done a leaf spring swapfrom another expo

Learn something everyday day I guess, Shackles rotted out on my first gen and then my second gen. Leafs never got worse than surface crud on both.

I found a pair on ebay for $80 each with free shipping. One of my favorite jobs I did to my old rig. The ride difference was night and day. Mine original springs were shot to, the whole rear of the truck was sagging a big, the springs were practically flat, if not frowning :(
