Need OEM Radio/Cassette/CD Controls

Jeff HELP

Got the head unit today (thanks Robb, that was fast), hooked everything up, but no sound? If you hook up headphones into the rear control jacks, you can here it there, but not out of the speakers???? Do I have an amplifier problem now, or a still a radio problem. At least I've confirmed that my other unit was definately dead. Need help, what am I missing?

Is your CD Changer hooked up, too? I'm not sure the system will play thru the speakers if the changer is disconnected.

Other than that, check for voltage at pin #8 on the power connector (opposite the "key" notch). If you don't have power there, the amp will not turn on. If you do have power there, then you may have an amplifier problem.

regards,

Jeff

FIXED

Well, after a week of no tunes, and a lot, but not too much, talking to my wife, the radio works. Jeff, I was thinking the same thing you were, about the power at pin 8. I pulled the protective cap off the back of that connector, and before I could even check for power, I realized the problem. The wire was broke at the connector. I quickly manufactured a small jumper....and we had SOUND! Everything works, the rear control, the cd changer, the sub....I'm very happy. I also removed the smaller Explorer bezel, and put on my original Expedition bezel, and everything works great. If anyone needs an Explorer bezel, I have one. Thanks Jeff and Robb, I can't even imagine how much this would of cost to take in and have repaired; or another week talking to my wife.
