Need opinions on wheels and tires

Any 94-04 Mustang rim fits. The 05+ have a different backspacing. For ***** and giggles I put the 17x9 and 17x10.5 10th Anniversary Cobra rims off my '96 on the Explorer. They fit, would need some taller sidewalls to drive on (26.4 inch tall tires as opposed to the factory 29.4 inch tall tires).

Thats good too know, but I have the XLT Sport pkg on the ex. So my stock size is the 245/65/R17. So the 17" part i'm good with, its the 9" part that I would upsize my tire. I know the stock size tire will fit, but I rather have a tire made to fit a 9" wide rim.

I ordered some black XD wheels. How would they hold up to Wisconsin winter roads? Or do I wait to put them on in spring? New tires would be nice inthe snow.

wait. don't risk ruining the finish on those new rims. the salt will tear up the clear coat....

hey Ronin, whats the backspacing on your rims? and i only see the gaurd dogs offered in a load range D. Do i just tell them i want a C load range when I call to order? Thanks

275/60/17's should work on a 17x9 rim and are only 29.9 inches tall and will work on up to a 9.5 inch wide rim. I am thinking about getting some '04 Cobra rims for my XLT and wrapping them in 275/60/17 Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S tires. I currently run 255/65/17's on the stock 17x8's my stock size was also 245/65/17.
