Need Opinions tranny issue

Okay so a couple months ago i broke the reverse band in my trans so anyways long story short they want $1600-2500 to fix it rebuild the whole tranny...My thing is i just bought this truck and have this problem and it has 163k miles is it worth throwing this kind of money into it???

Do you really love the truck a lot?
Has it had the timing chains replaced yet?
Rust/body condition?

A lot of things enter into that answer. Strictly on a value standpoint, probably not. That high end figure is half of what the truck is probably worth.
