I was wondering how to tackle the following:

I install an alarm/rem start. It all works fine except:

After arming the car (locking the doors) aafter about 10 min or so, if I go to unlock the door with the transmitter, it sets off the factory alarm. I have to get in the car and turn the key to the on position. If I remote start the car before I unlock the door, there is now issue (as if I applied ign prior to unlock).

Is there a way around this or a way to disable the factory alarm system?

Thanks much!

did you put a factory alarm bypass module in there? if so, it probably isnt programmed correctly. if you didnt put one in, you have to have that for it to work correctly.

This post above is accurate. The middle plug on the security module (green) has 16 wires. The grn/purp pin #5 is the factory disarm wire neg input. It's required to deactivate when installing an aftermarket keyless. I did not have to use it for the remote start when using the pats integration module.

a belated update? glad to see you got it worked out

Yes, it is delayed. I actually was procrastinating a bit cause I didn;t want to pull the dash and search in the kick and all. Finally, I got a new woofer and am going to do a custom build were the factory sub is located. Long story short, there was the factory module, so I ran a wire from the rem start brain to that wire and "presto" alls good in the work of remote start/alarm!

Better late than never I guess ;)
