Hey there guys, Im pretty new to the whole car audio scene, but I am looking at putting some type of subwoofer in my explorer to make the bass hit harder. I have a 1992 XLT, I have already installed a new headunit and bypassed the factory Amp.
Basically, I am looking for better sound and bass while spending as little as possible. What do I need to buy as far as sub, amp? etc. or can the factory be used.
Also..Is it possible to mount anything under the rear seat to save space? I am pretty confident I can build a box I just need help on this stuff. Any info on what to do inexpensively would be GREATLY APPRICEATED.

I have a 92 XLT w/ 1 pioneer 12in 400watt in a Bandpass box. I love it! It has clear sound, great lows and didn't cost to much. If you're looking to save space, there's lots of guys who got the Q-Logic box that fits in the little cargo space in the very back on the passenger side. I suggest you do a search on this site on sub's b/c there has been alot on this subject!
Good Luck
Jaytee

You are going to need an amp and a sub. What kind of speakers are you running? I would say either go with a 10 or 2 or one 12.
