Need The Scoop On '95 Stereo

Hey Guys,
I'm looking to replace my stock cassette with stock CD player. First, how do I tell what I have as far as brand or premium or whatever? I think 95-97 will bolt right in. Can I put a 98+ in it? With a harness adaptor? Or anyone know the wiring code to splice in?
I want to keep it as stock as possible, so not looking to put aftermarket HU in.

it wont be worth the trouble to put a 98+ in.
do you have an amp behind the rear passenger side panel in the cargo area? if so then you need another premium headunit.
