Need to place remote

I have any aftermarket alarm on my ex its from 93, well the remote is broken and when i get to the truck it unlockes it without me touching it and then when i lock it it will do it again so i come out of the house and find it unlocked. Well i went to bestbuy and circuitcity both places said i had to get it from the people who made the alarm. Is this true or can i buy any remote and program it

On that page were some listed specifically for Pursuit alarms. Just make sure the model numbers match.
