I'm having some electrical issues with my ex but I really think the issues are from the previous owner having a massive system in it. So, what's the best way for me get the dash out and verify all the connections? I've already checked the fuses and they all seem good.

edit: I know this isn't the right forum, but the audio peeps would know this the best I believe.

What types of issues are you having? If you let us know you may be able to save some times and not have to take out the dash.

Most times an audio system is installed the only place that wires are touched is behind the radio itself.

The issues are the lamp lights in front not working and the gauge cluster lights don't illuminate. Oh, and the OBDII connection won't read so I can't pull the codes for my check engine light.

What are lamp lights?
As for the dash lights, they might just all be blown...it sounds ridiculous, but when I got my 95, I swear the only bulbs that worked were the headlights lol

Lol that does sound ridiculous but sometimes strange things happen. I was going to say map lights but my wife insisted I call them lamp lights "cause that's what they say on them". They're the lights by the info center above the mirror. Since all the issues except obdII are lights, maybe it's just that, I need to replace a bunch of bulbs.

LOL yea those are "map" lights, but yea, I literally had to replace over 10 of the "194" bulbs (the type that are in the gauge cluster, ac controls, doors, etc) And all the rear bulbs, (both blinkers, tails, and reverse lights)

I'll give a couple of those a try and see if they light up. If so, I'll know the problem. If not, then back to plan A.

Dumb question, but have you checked to see if the dimmer switch is in the off position?

The 1st and 2nd gens didnt have OFF on the dimmer lol, just dim, bright, and all the way up for the interior lights to come on

I work in IT. I understand asking the "dumb" questions. Yes I checked. The lights work for the radio, climate controls, etc. Just not the gauge cluster.

If all the others work then its sounds just like a bulb (or many). I would say just take the cluster out first and change those before you go tearing out the entire dash
