need to replace LCA

the other day was driving and felt and heard strange noise(clunk) under the front end. I have already replace the UCA's and ball joints, and stabilizer bushings about six months ago. so I came home and crawled under my 2000 ford EB and saw the bushing are completely shot and disintegrating, (maybe 181000 miles) I can do the job but have no clue how to remove the torsion bars. pics would be a great help if possible. thanks all.

I bought a '98 Exp w/5.0 AWD which had been slid down an embankment off the road, bent front suspension parts, front wheels pointing at crooked angles.

First, I set the toe to where I could test drive it. Started, ran very well, pulled like hell to one side (no surprise), but seemed good candidate to fix.

Found RH torsion bar BENT, support bracket rear twisted out of alignment, possible bend in control arm, so replaced LCR, straightened torsion bar in my axle press. (It took big hammer and drift to drive the torsion bar out of it's socket in the LCR).

FWIW, I recall that "pre-stressing" the spring by lowering weight of vehicle down onto the LCR greatly facilitated installation of the torsion bar, as well as "pre-tensioning" it via the height-set screw. imp
