Took the Ex to the shop today to check what I believe to be bad rear clutch packs(rearend shudder in turns). The mechanic called to tell me that I didn't have a posi rearend(seriously?) and then went on to tell me that I don't have a limited slip rearend and that he called Ford to verify it. I have the D4 tag and the tow package not to mention the brown-wire mod which make be believe I have a limited slip. This guy had absolutely no clue. I'm not a mechanic but mechanical enough and a "car guy" that I know the difference between open diff, ls, and posi rears. I'm gonna change the fluid in the rear on Sunday and pray for the best, then call a DIFFERENT shop next week and start getting some costs on the rebuild/replace. Just unbelievable that this guy calls himself a mechanic.
