I have my 1992 Eddie Bauer, and im getting a taurus tomorrow, free, selling it to my girlfriends dad for 1500$,
what i wanted to do was sell my ex, and get like a 97ish, i like the features better, but then i was thinking, i could just keep mine, and get some nice rims/tires, and get it lowered, and try to fix it up alot.
(Has 237,x.. miles, sputters if I drive, then let it sit for 15 minutes, it has a really rough idle, sputters til i drive and get it to about 1.7 rpms)
Heres the probs:
-Needs a whole new exhaust
-Rockers are totally disentegrated
-Wheel wells have deep deep rust
-The undercarriage is really rusty
-The engine compartment has a lot of rust
-It needs new shocks/struts
-Needs a new (or bend mine back) front bumper
-Needs right side front fender, slipped on some ice, and went into another car
-Rust spots above gas door
The interior has basically been babied so its good
-New armrest, mine snapped
-Needs new drivers seat (Leather, power)(Ripped, and doesnt stay up)
-Could use a new fan, mine has some cracks
-Could use a new hood
I want to (if I keep it) fix the rust, get new rockers, tint the windows (5% in back, 20ish up front), get at least 20's, with a nice size tire, probably used, get it painted black, lowered 2-3 inches, diamond cut headlights, and clear corners (gf's getting me those for my bday in May lol) Id also like to get a real loud blow/train horn kit.
Most people would say just get a newer one, but Id be lucky to get about 2k for mine (with th tv in there and everything) and the 1500$ from the taurus, id have about 3500$, and I went in for an interview at Krogers, im only 16, so its for bagging/carts/etc, I had to do the swab drug test, this was on March 6th, she told me they cant send them in on the weekends, so she sent it out Monday (9th) and still hasnt got it back yet, I called last friday (13th) and she said probably that saturday or monday it should be in, STILL NOTHING, I tried calling today, she wasnt in.
But anywho, id be making about 6.15$ an hour (starting wage) 12-15 hours a week, so id have about 75$ a week, about 60$ after taxes and union fees, I need about 100$ /month for my explorer right now, so it would probably be a little more with a newer one, so what would you guys do??
I LOVE the bodies on the 91-94, but I love the features on the 95-01's, plus I think those look really good lowered, with nice wheels and tires.
Any suggestions,
